A Glimpse of FAST TREK 2.0 through the eyes of the Event Chairs

"28th January is a Sunday, let’s go trekking?" Rtr. Harsh asks Rtr. Mukul in the food court on one fine day. "Why not take the entire college  then?" Rtr.Satej chimes in. "Let’s do Fast – Trek 2.0 then, it’s been a long time since its first version at Huthridurga happened." Everyone cheers at the decision, and that’s how it started. Rtr. Mukul and Rtr. Harsh are declared as the event chairs!!!

"Hello everyone, Rtr. Mukul and Rtr. Harsh here! Get ready to see behind the scenes of this brilliant event Fast Trek 2.0 through our eyes. Trust us, it’s going to be worth it!

"Okay, we have the date, we have the name, we will have participants but what’s the location of the trek?" Rtr. Satej and Rtr. Netanya asked us. Let’s decide on the location then. Every board member suggested different locations; some even said Kumara Parvatha, just kidding! After lots of discussions and location visits, Kunagalu hills in Ramanagara was decided as the final location.

The next step is to create hype in the college, but how? Creative videos on our Instagram? Hell yes! The web and visuals team got into action and started creating the hype. Next what? Let’s do a banner reveal on campus and that too  in front of hundreds. Banners and posters of Fast – Trek 2.0 are seen all around the campus. The hype is building up; people are talking about it in the food court and in Global Village back gate. It feels surreal!

We knew the hype was there, but of this level? We never even dreamt off it. Registration slots got over in a jiffy, and our phones were filled with hundreds of messages for further registrations. Unfortunately, we couldn’t accommodate everyone, sorry for that! So now the name, date, location, and participants, everything is there. Next, transport has to be decided for such a large crowd, and it’s a large number of buses. Amidst the hustle and bustle, Rtr. Bhumika steps in as our unofficial bridge, seamlessly conversing with each vendor and helping us out every single second. Food, refreshments, glucose, and first aid, everything is arranged. Everything is set up and ready.

Here comes the main day. The crowd started building up early in the morning, and Rtr. Mukul leaves early with some organizers to set up everything and get ready with all the planning for such a large crowd. Safety measures are checked, and brought on. Buses start leaving in slots with students dancing and screaming their hearts out, shooting videos. Bags on back, speakers in one hand, mobile phones in the other, the trek starts with energy on another planet, having fun, creating memories, and taking it all in their heads, hearts, and phones. Those dark caves filled their hearts with happiness; you could literally see it on their faces with a little adventure after those caves. All tiredness went away when they all saw that breathtaking view from the top, greenery with hills all around.Rtr. Harsh is managing buses parking, overseeing the requirements at various points, and managing people.

The crowd keeps coming, going back, and having lunch in between. This goes on till evening with little hardships here and there managed well by every single one out there. The last batch comes down, and all buses are ready to leave back to the college. There is a little more energy left in everyone to dance and make the already memorable day even more memorable. Everyone comes back safely, and you could hear "what a trek, what a day" from all directions, and we all just couldn’t stop smiling hearing that.

The Rotaract Club of RVCE successfully conducted “Fast - Trek 2.0” and day ends with Rtr. Satej thanking everyone for their efforts and hard work all those days with a brilliant speech along with a little photoshoot. We also thanked everyone, the Board Members, Organisers and even the college administration for all the support and then went on to sleep for the next 2 days. Probably one of the most memorable days of our tenure! We'll cherish the memories from this day for years to come.
