Rotaract RVCE's Bridge Between Ages
On September 8th, the Rotaract Club of RVCE hosted a touching event, “Hello! Grandparents,” aimed at connecting the youth with the elderly. This heartwarming initiative brought together Rotaract members and residents of Aarna Aayu foundation for an afternoon filled with so much joy and happiness. The purpose of this event was to spend time with grandparents on Grandparents’ Day, providing them with companionship, interacting with them and learning from their experiences. With a total of 12 volunteers led by two event chairs, this event gave Rotaractors a chance to learn from and respect their elders, while also highlighting the value of having empathy and respect for the elderly. “This event has a special place in my heart, and it is something I will never forget”, said Rtr Muskan, one of the event chairs for the event. It will not only be special to our club, but to all elderly that the volunteers spent time with, played games with and even watched ‘Anupama’ with!
Rtr. Kushal, President of the Rotaract Club of RVCE, expressed, “This event was so successful that we plan to organize it again on a larger scale. We aim to make many more grandparents feel cherished.” The event was a tremendous success, with 36 hours of volunteer work benefiting 23 elderly attendees. A small donation of food and equipment was made to the foundation as a gesture of respect. As Rotaract RVCE continues to bridge generations and create positive change, such initiatives will remain central to their mission of building a more connected and compassionate society. We look forward to future events that will further strengthen these vital community ties and invite others to join us in making a difference.
