UPTOWN JUNK : Turning Trash Into Treasure! ✨
Sometimes, the best ideas come from seeing ordinary things differently.
College life is usually about classes, assignments, and deadlines. But every once in a while, something comes along that lets you take a break from the usual routine, put your thinking caps on, and try something completely different.
On 16th and 17th September, Uptown Junk brought a refreshing mix of excitement, creativity, and friendly competition to RVCE. From an adventurous Treasure Hunt to the challenge of transforming waste into something wonderful, the two-day event encouraged participants to explore teamwork, problem-solving, and the art of thinking outside the box.
Day 1: The Hunt Was On! 🗺️
When the clues get tricky, teamwork becomes the real treasure.
The first day kicked off with an exciting Treasure Hunt that had teams racing across the campus, following a sequence of clues and figuring out where to head next. But it wasn't going to be that easy! With clever distractions and challenges along the way, participants had to stay alert, think logically, and work together to make it to the finish.
From decoding clues to running from one location to another, the campus was filled with excitement, confusion, laughter, and a little bit of chaos! Teams that successfully completed the challenge earned their place in Day 2, making the hunt not just about speed, but also about strategy and collaboration.
Day 2: From Junk to Something Amazing! ♻️
One person’s waste is another person’s creative opportunity.
After a day of chasing clues, it was time to put creativity to the test.
Day 2 began with an exciting auction, where participants used the event's very own Rotamoney to bid for different waste materials such as bottles, boxes, and other everyday items. With their materials secured, the real challenge began: transforming these seemingly ordinary objects into something useful, creative, or decorative.
What followed was a wonderful display of imagination and resourcefulness. Participants came up with unique ideas and turned discarded materials into innovative creations, proving that a little creativity can go a long way. It was amazing to see how differently everyone approached the challenge, giving new life and purpose to things that might otherwise have been thrown away.
Two Days, Countless Ideas, and Lasting Memories! 🎉
Two days of challenges, creativity, and teamwork.
From solving clues and racing across the RVCE campus on Day 1 to bidding, building, and creating on Day 2, Uptown Junk brought together two days of excitement and innovation. The event encouraged participants to think creatively, collaborate with their teams, and discover how everyday waste could be transformed into something meaningful.
And just like that, Uptown Junk came to a successful close, leaving behind plenty of memories and a simple reminder: sometimes, all it takes is a little creativity to turn trash into treasure! 💙
